  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Deep venous reflux is the major cause of chronic venous insufficiency due to primary venous insufficiency and postthrombotic syndrome. Deep vein valvuloplasty is a reliable technique to restore venous valvular function. Repair of the incompetent deep vein valves in patients with primary venous insufficiency was first reported by Kistner in 1968, and has established its rationale and long-term effectiveness on limbs with deep venous insuf-ficiency in the past three decades.
