  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Due to the rise of the age when women choose to give birth and the prevalence of HPV infection, the incidence of invasive cervical cancer in nuliparous women is predicted to increase. Even for cases of invasive cervical can-cer, fertility-preserving surgery should be an option if the tumor is at low risk. Laparoscopic radical trachelectomy, which was pioneered by the French doctor Daniel Dargent in 1987, was performed in more than 300 cases resulting in the birth of 99 living children worldwide.
