Chemotherapy has recently become the main treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis, but surgery combined with pre-and postoperative chemotherapy still plays an important role in management of patients with multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis. We report herein successful treatment of lobectomy for this disorder by Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery(VATS).

We suggest that VATS lobectomy is a relatively low-invasive procedure that is appropriate for certain patients with multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis and allows patients to resume their normal life at an early stage after surgery.
