　小児外科領域における腹腔鏡下手術の特殊性を，小児の解剖学的・生理学的特殊性をもとに気腹の影響を中心にまとめ，器具や気腹，麻酔の実際，あるいは問題点について記載を加えた．自験例をもとに今後の展望と適応拡大についても私見を記載した．

We have already carried out 320 laparoscopic procedures in children, 127 of those were laparoscopic surgery which includes 30 newbor surgery cases. Based on our experiences, here we discribed the anatomical and physiological problems for introducing laparoscopic surgery in children with special referrences to the pneumoperitoneum using carbondioxide gas, especially in newborn and young infants. Also surgical indica-tion and future prospects were discussed.
