Thank you very much for the introduction, Nakamura-sensei. I really appreciate it. Let us go ahead and get started on the conference today.
My presentation today is called, ‘International Conference Oral Presentation Essence.’ Most of the slides have both Eigo and Nihongo. I hope that that makes it easy for you to understand. I am sorry that this kind of lecture cannot be so interactive, but I hope there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
The idea of this lecture today is to help you prepare to give a lecture overseas. Most overseas lectures, in most of the world, for whatever reason, are done in English. You really need to prepare for that. In Europe, most of the conferences are in English, certainly in the United States and Canada. Even in South America, most of the conferences are done, at least partially, in English.
Preparing an English presentation is very complicated for you. To do that in your second language is very difficult and it is frustrating. It is maybe a little bit scary. What I hope to do today is make you a little bit less scary. That is what I am going to talk about today.
