  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The case study*1 has been in use for many years as a learning exercise for medical students through general conferences, rounds2*, and case presentations*3. More recently, it has been used in medical technology and in nonmedical education. It has gained popularity*4 as a means of presenting cases involving managerial and administrative decisions. However, educators sometimes fail to*5 recognize the value of the case study as an opportunity for maximum learning in medical technology. Clarification of the processes*6 involved in case study will help to make its use more appropriate and effective.
