  • Look Inside

There have been few reports about malignant vascular tumors in the nose and paranasal sinuses.

In the last 3 years, we have experienced 3 different types of malignant vascular tumors in the nose and paranasal sinuses. Their pathological diagnosis were as follows; 1) malignant hemangiocndothelioma 2) angioleiomyosarcoma and 3) malignant hemangiopericytoma. The patients presented quite different clinical courses. A 12-year-old boy with malignant hemangioendothelioma had well responded to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but the patient resulted in general metastasis and poor prognosis. A 60-year-old female with angioleiomyosarcoma tended to have local recurrence and needed several operations. A 48-year-old male with malignant hemangiopericytoma had a good prognosis.
