咽頭腫瘍を思わせた内頸動脈の異常走行

Abnormal Course of the Internal Carotid Artery Suspected as a Pharyngeal Tumor

I．はじめに

　内頸動脈の走行異常が臨床的に発見され報告された例は比較的少ない。しかしまれに咽頭腫瘤として発見された例，あるいは内頸動脈の走行異常があったためにアデノイド切除術や口蓋扁桃摘出術のさい大出血をきたした例などが報告されている。今回われわれは滲出性中耳炎をきっかけとして中咽頭に腫瘤が発見され，精査の結果それが内頸動脈の走行異常によるものであることが確認された例を経験したので報告する。

　A 87-year-old woman presented a mass in the right side of the posterior wall of the mescpharynx with middle ear effusion in the same side.

　CT and angiography revealed that the mass v.as a part of the internal carotid artery which took an abnormal course. The causative factors could be either of congenital or acquired. The authors stressed a possible danger when biopsy or incision may carelessly be done in such a case.
