上顎洞内歯科材料異物の1症例ならびに最近の上顎洞異物に関する文献的考察

A Foreign Body (Dental Material) in the Maxillary Sinus, and Review of the Literature

I．緒言

　上顎洞異物の症例は，耳鼻咽喉科および歯科・口腔外科からの報告が多く，外傷によるもの，歯科治療時の偶発的な侵人によるものなどがあり，異物の種類もさまざまである。

　今回，筆者らは，歯科用根管充填剤のガッタパーチャポイントおよびセメントが上顎洞異物となった症例を経験したので，最近の上顎洞異物の文献的考察と併せて，ここに報告する。

　A case of unilateral chronic maxillary sinusitis caused by a foreign body, a piece of gutta-percha point with cement, is presented. This foreign body was thought to be introduced into the sinus during root canal treatment.

　In addition to the present case, the literature of 100 cases of foreign bodies in the maxillary sinus during the last 20 years was reviewed. Thirty cases were traumatic, 69 iatrogenic, and 1 of unknown cause. Sixty-two iatrogenic cases were caused by displacement of a root or tooth into the sinus.
