Two cases of maxillary sinus foreign body

Ⅰ．はじめに

　上顎洞異物は耳鼻咽喉科関連の異物のなかで比較的珍しい疾患である。近年その原因が外傷性から医原性に移行しており，医原性では特に歯科治療と関係していることが多い^1）。今回われわれは，CT値から異物と診断した歯科治療の際に用いられた根管充塡用セメントが原因と考えられた上顎洞異物の2症例を経験したので報告する。

　We reported two cases of foreign body in the maxillary sinus without specific symptoms. Both cases had history of dental treatments 15 and 3 years prior to their visit to our clinic,and CT scan revealed a high density shadow in the maxillary sinus. The foreign bodies were surgically removed and proved to be sealer. Histological examinations revealed inflammatory reactions with mast cell infiltration of maxillay mucosa. The incidence of iatrogenic foreign bodies has been increasing in recent years. A careful history taking and CT examination are indispensable for definitive diagnosis of iatrogenic foreign bodies.
