下咽頭腫瘤を思わしめた巨大な振子様扁桃の1例

A Case of Large Pendulous Tonsil, appeared like a Hypopharyngeal Tumor

　I．緒言

　われわれが日常経験する振子様扁桃は，そのほとんどが口蓋扁桃上極より発生し，大きさも大豆大程度のものが多い。その発生頻度は少ないが，診断も容易であり，臨床的にもあまり興味をもたれない。

　しかし，振子様扁桃が母扁桃よりも大きく巨大である場合，臨床的にも興味がある。今回筆者らは摘出手術直前まで下咽頭腫瘤を疑った扁桃下極に基部を有する巨大な振子様扁桃の1例を経験したので，興味ある例と考え，報告する。

　A case of large pendulous tonsil in a 49-years-old female is reported. The patient complained of dysphagia, and the size of the incarcerated tonsil was 4.3 mm × 3.2 mm, and it was extending from the inferior pole of palatine tonsil, hanging down to near the vallecula epiglottica, and this was initially suspected as a hypopharyngeal tumor. The tonsil was removed from the patient in head hanging position under general anesthesia.
