  • Look Inside

A case of migrane in a 27-year-old male whose migranous headache was relieved by acupuncture is reported. Needles were inserted into the point of the stellate ganglion to stimulate it manually.

The stimulation of the stellate ganglion by acupuncture often reduces the pain, but sometimes increases it by the same stimulation.

Thermogram of the face showed a low-temperature area on which the patient complained of migrane. On the other hand, as his headache was improved by acupuncture, the low temperature area of his face recovered to normal temperature.

The oral administration of ergotamine tartrate with caffeine and 13 times of the acupuncture treatments relieved the patient's migranous headache completely.
