両側同時性突発性難聴の症例

A Case of Bilateral Simultaneous Idiopathic Hearing Loss

I．はじめに

　両側の聴力が同時にほとんど聾の状態となったが，治療により日常生活に不自由のないところまで回復した症例を経験した。この聴力障害は両耳とも厚生省特定疾患突発性難聴調査研究班の決めた突発性難聴確実例^1）に相当する。このような症例の報告はあまり多くないので報告する。

　A 49-year-old man suddenly lost his hearing completely while he was watching television. At that time he had tinnitus but no vertigo. On the next day audiometry revealed an extensive sensorineural hearing loss of 85 dB in both ears. Vestibular function tests disclosed nystagmus and deviation of the eyes of labyrinthine origin. After about 1 month of therapy consisted of intravenous urografin, intravenous xylocaine, oral steroid and a rest at home, he recovered his hearing in the right ear completely and hearing in the left ear remarkably.
