鼓膜湯傷の1例

HOT-WATER BURN OF THE EAR DRUM

　I．はじめに

　鼓膜の火傷および湯傷はその解剖学的な関係から比較的まれで今までの報告も少ない。いつたん湯傷をおこした鼓膜は穿孔をきたしやすく，中耳炎を併発して非常に治りにくいという特長をもつている。最近，警友病院にて鼓膜湯傷に続発した慢性中耳炎に対して鼓室成形術を行ない全治し，若干の病理学的知見を得たので報告する。

　A woman, aged 23, redeyed a hot-water burn of the ear drum by an accidental tipping of a thermos bottle. Under conservative treatment the ear made bad turn to chronicity with persistent discharge that lasted for the period of months. Tympanoplasty was then performed.Six weeks later the ear healed completely. The examination of the tissues removed at the operation failed to show a characteristic features of burns. Chornic inflammatory process appeared to be the main culprit that caused failure of reponse.
