Two cases of the burn of tympanic membrane are reported. A man, aged 53 recieved a burn that, by a hot water bottle spilling near his pillow, extended into his left tympanum. In spite of continued treatment for the period of 1 month no improvement was seen in the symptoms of tinnitus and hard of hearing with persistance of the perforation of the tympanic membrane. The patient abandoned the treatment without cure or dismissal.

In the second case a man, aged 29, carrying a bucket of hot water tripped and fell that re-sulted in burn of left tympanic membrane. The treatment of ear was instituted from the very next day of the injury but the large per-foration of the tympanic membrane and the symptom of hard of hearing persited without healing or abatement. After 1 month of treat-ment the patient was lost to further observa-tion.
