  • Look Inside

That there are some interrelation between repeated upper respiratory tract infection among children and the condition in which the blood may be found particularly with IgA secretory deficiency, has been repeatedly reported and recognized. In considering this question of recurrent otitis media among children the question of immunity in the individual may loom as an important factor but it would be erroneus to consider this factor alone as a sole key to the solution.

As a mater of fact, that the causative factors that may lead to the establishment of middle ear effusion by recurrent middle ear infection have not been clearly revealed; allergy may be considered as an important contributor as well as poor dietary habits leading to protein deficiency, hormonal disturbances and lymphoid hypertrophy.
