臨床的電気味覚検査

ELECTROGUSTOMETRY IN CLINICAL APPLICATION

　I．はじめに

　電気味覚についてはSulzer（1752），Volta（1792）によりすでに見出されていたが，未だ臨床的には用いられるには至らず，主に種々の刺激溶液を舌表面に塗布する方法が用いられてきた。しかしKrarup（1958）らにより電気味覚が臨床的に用いられ，その有用性が強調されてから広く用いられるようになつてきた。最近では聴神経腫瘍の早期診断にも不可欠な検査法となつてきた。著者らはKrarupの方法を若干改良して臨床的電気味覚検査を行ない，いささかの知見を得，その有用性について検討を加えたので報告する。

　When the tongue is stimulated by a weak direct electrical current, either acid or matallic taste is experinced. The most sensative area appeared to be the region at the tip; the threshold of the stimulating current was found to be 16μA, the average of 50 normal persons tested. Abnormal sensations with this form of testing were noted in some patients affected Ménière's syndrome.
