With the Békèsy-type audiometer set at 1,000 to 4,000Hz and the attenuation rate at 1,2,4, and 8db/sec, the relation of the amplitudes of these conditions are studied:

 1) When the attenuation rate x is increased the amplitude y follows with an increase and the relation of the recovery of these two may be graphed as a straight line y=bi+aiX,

 2) The ratio between the changing rate aiixand the attenuation rate represent the time required for the excursion of the amplitude,

 3) bi may be interpreted as a threshold deviation of the duration of sound. The bi value appear to be highly decreased (1,000Hz~1.458 db, 4,000Hz-1.083db) only when nerve-deafness ear is stimulated with a continued sound. In other 3 conditions namely, a normal ear with sound stimulation interrupted or continued and/or nerve-deafness ear with interrupted stimulation appear to be about the same, 1,000Hz-2.320 to 2.565db, 4,000Hz-2.075 to 2.198db,

 4) The graphic representation of the increase in amplitude that may be caused by attenuation increase show a sawtooth type wave and it is most characteristically shown on the top.
