A boy, aged 2, while riding a tricycle accidently fell on a bamboo stick. Two days following this accident the patient developed a trismus. Eight pieces of bamboo slivers were removed from the wounded area after which the latter healed uneventfully. However, about 1 month after the injury the left ear was found to be involved with otitis media that continuously discharged for 51 days and finally turning into growths of granulation tissues. With the removal of granulations a bamboo sliver was, also, removed from this area. And, thereafter, for the ensuing period of 7 months, 25 pieces of bamboo slivers were removed from the same ear. The patient recovered.
