THE TREATMENT OF VERTIGO FROM THE STAN-DPOINT OF PSYCHO-SOMATIC MEDICINE

　Ⅰ．まえがき

　精神身体医学（以下PSM^＊と略記）については，すでに多くの著書や論文があるが，耳鼻咽喉領域のそれに関する記述は意外にとぼしく，ことに「めまい」についての本邦文献はきわめて少ないようである。

　今，PSMの立場から「めまい」を論ずるに先だつて，「PSMや精神身体病（以下PSD^＊＊）とは何か」について述べるのが順序であるが，ここでは割愛することにした。PSMの一般的な概念やPSDの定義などについては，末尾に記した参考書を参照願うことにして，さつそく本論に入ることとする。

When vertigo as a symptom is considered from the standpoint of psycho-somatic medi-cine it may be thought of as a manifestation of a disease in which the causative factors are based on inner conflict and uncertainness of the man in his mode of existance.

Consequently the treatment of vertigo sho-uld be initiated with a wellconsidered psy-cho-somatic interview; the examiner should be in a close sympathy with the patient.
