潜在性前庭失調について

LATENT VESTIBULAR ATAXIA

　めまいの研究には通例として患者の方からめまいを訴えてきた症例のみを対象としているが，これで十分であろうか。本質的にめまい患者と同じ前庭失調を有しながら，めまいを訴えないためにわれわれの観察からのがれているものはないであろうか。

　臨床的に前庭機能検査の適応とされているのは，めまい症例をはじめ各種の内耳あるいは聴神経疾患，脳神経疾患の一部などであるが，これで十分であろうか。従来あまり検査対象とならなかつたもののなかに，しらべてみると前庭失調の所見が見出されることはないであろうか。

The "Latent Vestibular Ataxia (LVA)" was defined as a condition of an existence of abnormal vestibular, reaction without any complaint of dizziness or ataxia The authors classified the LVA into several categories and described some examples of these cases as follows: A case of emesis with unilateral perceptive deafness, a series of air sickness cases and a case of migraine with deformities of the cervical vertebrae. From these obser-vations the clinical significance of the LVA was discussed.
