突発性難聴について

Sudden Deafness

　Ⅰ．緒言

　突発性難聴の報告は多いが，その病因治療については不明の部分が残されている。私達は，最近突発性難聴の5症例を経験したので報告する。

Five cases of sudden deafness, females and males, are reported. The deafness in the 3 female patients was apprently due to ci-rculatory disturbance of the labyrinthine blood supply. All 3 patients were slightly above age 40 and with symptoms of clima-cteric changes of hormone secretion; the circulatory disturbances were probably ca-used by autonomic instability from the dis-turbances in hormone secretion. The cause of deafness in male patient was indetermin-able but the other appeared to be the result of the eighth nerve involvement by inflam-matory toxication.
