  • Look Inside

A case of laryngeal lymphoma was found in a woman, aged 44. Her chief complaints were persistent huskiness of voice for 5 years and a graclual increase of dyspnea.

Laryngagcopy revealed a pigeon-egg sized tumor filling the left half of the laryngeal cavity; with biopsy examination laryngeal sarcoma was suspected.

Laryngectomy was perfomed. A dumb-bell shaped tumor was removed. This tumor had probably developed from the left aryepiglottic fold and had extended downwards the left inner wall of the larynx covering the left vocal cord and occupied the prelaryngeal space beyond the median line.

Macroscopically the tumor had a mooth surface; the cut-surface showed it was composed of compact and homogeneous, Structures greyish white in color.

Microscopically it was found to be consisting of lymphocytic mass with normal lymph follicles. There was no evidence of sinus formation nor any sign of being malignant in nature.
