蛋白同化ステロイド使用による音声障害

VOCAL DISTURBANCES CAUSED BY USE OF PROTEIN ANABOLIC STEROIDS

　Ⅰ．緒言

　最近，慢性消耗性疾患，未熟児，手術後の衰弱等低蛋白症をきたす諸疾患に広く蛋白同化ステロイドが用いられている。これには種々の製剤（第1表）があるがいずれも男性ホルモンの誘導体であり多少共いわゆる男性化作用を伴なつているため副作用の発現には充分注意しなければならない。

　我々も17歳から43歳の女性10例においてその副作用によると考えられる音声障害を経験したので報告する。

Protein anabolic steroids are very often used in convalescent patients recently. The effect of this agent causing vocal disturba-nces are reported in 10 cases. The patient's ages ranged from 17 to 43. Examination sho-wed a marked reddening of the larynx; the spoken voice was lowered in tone and husky in character with at times a splitting effect. These disturbances were highly resistent to medical and phonetical treatments; a comp-lete recovery was not seen in any of the patients.
