  • Look Inside

Tanderil (Oxyphenbutazone) was given by dosage of 400~600mg per day to 33 patients who were affected with acute or chronic laryngitis or in conditions postoperative to laryngeal surgery. In 23 cases of this group steroid nebulization was concommitantly administered along with tranderil.

Response to tanderil was favorable; a marked reduction was seen in hyperemia and edema of vocal cords with improvement of voice disorders. Satisfactory results were obtained within the period of one month of its administration.

Side-effects were seen in 7 cases out of the 33 by manifestation of dermatitis, gastrointestinal disturbances, facial edema and a feeling of laryngeal dryness. These symptoms immediately disappeared with the withdrawal of the medication.
