頸部廓清術の統計的観察

　I．緒言

　上気道悪性腫瘍のリンパ節転移に対する処置として，1906年Crileが始めて頸部廓清手術を発表した。その後，医学の進歩に伴つてこの術式も発展し，殊にアメリカに於ては，一つの系統的な手術術式に発達し，戦後我が国に於ても，耳鼻咽喉科領域の悪性腫瘍の治療に原発巣の剔出と同時にこの術式が大いに利用される様になつた。又，近年この術式による手術例の遠隔成績の報告も次第に見られる様になつた。

　吾々の教室に於て，この術式を施行するようになつて6年足らずであるが，頸部廓清術（Neckdissection．以下N．Dと略す）を行つた164例についての統計的観察を行つた。

The results of 164 cases of cervical resec-tions that were performed at the Otolaryn-gological Department of Kyoto City Medical University since January 1955 to June 1960 are reported ; 130 cases of these were stu-died by follow-ups. The authors conclude that beneficial results were obtained by the resection in cancers of larynx, tongue and oral cuvity ; whereas, with cancers occurring in the paranasal and nasopharyngeal cavities there would be a necessaity of a fundamental surgical measure by which the original site of the malignancy may be completely cleared beside the cervical resection.
