扁桃摘出術後敗血症を合併せる1例について

　I．緒言

　急性扁桃炎より敗血症を惹起した症例報告は抗生物質が使用される以前に於ては比較的屡々見られたが，今日に於ては非常に稀であり，摘出術後の敗血症は夫にも増して数少いものと思う。我々は最近この忌む可き合併症の1例に遭遇し，種々教えられる処があつたので敢えて此処に報告する。

A case of septicemia as a complication that followed tonsillectomy in a man, aged 25, is reported. The patient recovered by use of antibiotics. The authors emphasize the need of postoperative use of antibiotics ; the pre-vention of postoperative hemorrhage ; and avoidance of procedures such as removal of blood clots from the operative wound and should they be necessiated the procedure should be carried out under asceptic condi-tions.
