中耳根治手術後の難治部位の統計的観察

　I．緒言

　中耳根治手術を行えば患耳の聴力の低下は免れないが，慢性中耳炎の中の或種のものは此の手術法の適応として処理され，本手術が施行される。その目的とするところは，病的粘膜はもとより骨部の掻爬をも行つて病巣部分を取り除き，耳漏を止め，健全な上皮を再生させるにある。然るに此の手術を行つても完全治癒に至らずに苦しむ例は決して稀でない。聴力損失を代償として行つたにしては残念な事で，このように完全治癒に至らないのは，色々の理由にも由るが，先ずどの部分が治り難いかを充分把握する必要があるので，術創のどの部分が治り切つていないかを118例の症例につき統計的観察を試みた。

A statistical observation on individuals in-volving 118 ears that failed to heal compl-etely after mastoidectomy was made with following results :

The largest majority belonged in the age-group of less than 1 year to 30 ; the parts that failed in healing appeared to be the tympa-nic cavity, particularly its lower portion, and the tympanic entrance of the tuba audi-tiva. It also appeared that the ear following mastoidectomy was subjected to reinfection through to the tuba auditiva.
