　緒言

　昭和24年度の大阪大學醫書學部耳鼻咽喉科外來患者より鼓膜に病理的攣化を認める1317名を選び夫々病名別に分類し統計的觀察を行つた。病名は慢性中耳炎，急性中耳炎，乾燥性穿孔，鼓膜瘢痕，上鼓室化膿症，經過性中耳炎，眞珠性中耳炎，慢性及び急性中耳炎に乳樣突起炎の併發した場合，鼓膜破裂の10項目とした．

KUSUOKA and Noda analyze 1317 patients who showed pathological changes in the tympanic mem-brane from the records of Otolaryngological Outpat-ient Service of Osaka University Medical School, d-uring the period of one year, January 1 to Decemder 31,1949. These cases ware classified according to their diagnosis, treatment and results. A detailed study was made with particular attention to the location where paracentesis of tympanic membrane in each case was effected. As result, the author state that, there occur a marked discrepancy between cli-nical practice and experimantal otitis media with paracentesis as to the location where incision of tym-panic membrane is placed. This problem is fully di-scussed in the paper.
