注入後35年を経て剔出せるパラフイン瘤について

　緒言

　パラフインをCornigが1891年，人体皮下に始めて注入，更に1893年，Juckuffによる動物実験の研究が発表されて以来，パラフイン注入に関しては，臨床的に広汎に研究され，且つ各分野に応用されて来た。

　特に耳鼻咽喉科領域に於ては，1904年Steinが，パラフインによる隆鼻手術の理論と実際に就き記述し，広汎なる論文を発表して以来，専ら整形手術の目的に応用されて来た。而るに，術後不快な現象としてパラフイン瘤を形成し，醜悪なる瘢痕を残す事のあるのは，1903年De Buck及びBroeckaertが，17才の男子に応用して術後遭遇し，パラフイノームと命名して以来，実地臨床家の屡々経験する処である。

Kitazima and Goto propose the term pa-raffinoma to cover all tissue deposits of paraffin which had been artificially inserted. The authors report a case in whom the pa-raffin which had been inserted for purpose of nasal prothesis was removed through intranasal rout after 35 years since the pro-cedure of its insertion. Various phases of paraffinoma are discussed.
