Nishihata and associates report a case of agranulocytosis in whom the condition is be-lieved to be the result of drug sensitivity from previous use of sulfa-drugs and antibiotics. The recovery of the case was effected by use of ACTH (total amount 360 mg) and cortisone (total amount 300 mg) for the period of 6 days. A woman, aged 40, complaining of sore throat and high fever which ran between 33 and 40 degrees is hospitalized. Blood examination showed the whife count to he only 1,200 with a marked decrease of neutrophils while the lymphocyts were on the side of relative incre-ase. The recovery after the treatment was remarkable in that on the 12th the leucocytic count was increased to 6,500 and the general blood picture returning to normal with a complete relief of the patient from her clini-cal symptoms.
