Takeuchi performs sinus operation on a body of age 13,who happened to be affected with a-catalse-blood dyscrasia but, recovered after the operation, uneventfuly without the complications of tissue necrosis which so often are met with. The term,a-catalase-blood dyscrasia, has been advanced in 1947 by Ta-kahara for a deficiency condition in the blood that causes progressive necrosis in the dental alveola. This condition may remain latent without production of symptoms appertaining thereto for any length of time or it may be activated at any time. Seven other siblings of the family to which the patient belonged were found as to be affected with similar bl-ood dyscrasia but, without symptoms. In the family history of the patient, it is found that blood relation-marriage had occurred in the predicessors four generations before.
