慢性副鼻腔炎と精神機能との関係（第4報）

　緒言

　余等は第54回，第55回，第56回日本耳鼻咽喉科学会総会に於て「慢性副鼻腔炎患者の智能指数，精神作業能力の休憩効果率，向性指数を通じて智的作業能率を検した結果，此等の平均は健康者の平均に比して，低く又鼻症状のみを有する副鼻腔炎患者の前記諸検査の平均と健康者の之等との間には統計的に有意の差を見ないが，Aprosexiaを有する副鼻腔炎患者の前記三検査の平均は何れも健康者のそれに比して低く，統計的にも有意の差を認め，又副鼻腔炎患者の術前に於ける智能指数，休憩効果率の平均と術後に於ける平均との間には有意の差を見たが，向性指数は術前，術後に於て差を見ない」と報告したが，今回余等は副鼻腔炎患者の手術後に於て智能指数並に休憩効果率の変化に乏しい者（以下A群）及び成績の明らかに上昇せる者（以下B群）とに心情検査を施行し，柳か興味ある成績を得たので茲に報告し諸賢の御批判を乞わんとするものである。

Ichihara and associates report that, by con-ducting mental tests among patients affected with chronic sinusitis before and after operative treatment of this condition, mental capacity is not in any way retarded fundamentally by pre-sence of the disease. The apparent disturba-nces are believed to be the result of lack of the power of concentration brought on by general feeling of lassitude.
