SHUGYO and TSUTA report a case of laryn-geal constriction due to cicatrix that they brought to successful cure by use of Lamina-ria. Laminaria is the stalk of marine plant and it was used for the first time and for such a purpose in this country by Naito in its natural desicated form. The authors modified the use by covering the vegetation with a rubber tube. And the advantages of this modification are manifold; it prevents absorption of moisture which, otherwise, would cause the mass to be increase in size and to be slipping out of place. Moisture absorption also causes brittleness in its con-stituency thereby leading the parts holding the staying guides to break off to form tra-cheal or brochial foreign bodies.
