手術時出血量の測定は,手術侵襲の生體に及す影響及びその對策の根本問題として重要な事項であるが,一般に廣く認識されて居らず,又實際の重要性も充分に強調されていない憾がある。
我が國に於ても耳鼻咽喉科領域に於て,全般に渉り調査された發表は誠に少い。これは從來の測定法があまり簡易なものでなかつたことにも一因があるものと考えられる。
HYO and associates investigated the amount of blood losses that might be incurred by op-erative procedures that are commonly perfor-med in the field of otolaryngology; the invest-igation is based upon the opportunity of obse-rving the results of 41 cases of operation. The largest amount of blood loss is encountered by operation of maxillary cancer which required removal of maxilla and the amount dimini-shed in following order of the list : Radical operation of maxillary sinus, radical mastoide-ctomy, cleft palate and harelip. The amount of blood loss measured per kilo body weight is: maxillary cancer, 27.6 grams; cleft palate, 11.2; radical maxillary sinus, 8-3, and when both sides are involved, 16; other operations average about 8 grams in genearl.
