TAKAKI reports a case in which the patent's chief complaint was that of epistaxis a condition which proved to be the result of hemorrhage from the maxillary sinus. The nasal mucous membranes gave appearance that they might easily bleed which was most likely due to Vitamin C defficiency because of the patient's dislike towards any sort of vegetables. The patient, however, related the incidence of repeated episodes of epistaxis since the time when he recieved a severe blow on the face about a year and a half hence. Examination showed a mass of tissue, a hemorrhagic polyp, in the middle meatus. The right maxillary sinus was opened surgically to find a large amount of blood of recent hemorrhage. Microscopic examination of sinus mucous membrane showed that it was of type which might be called peculiarly hemorrhagic over and above being in state of chronic infection.
