KITAMURA AND NAKAGAWA report 2 cases of cerebral abcess that originated from cholesteatoma-tous otitis media. Patients were men aged 39 and 25 respectively. In both cases the symptoms that the abcess had ruptured into the lateral ventricle were markedly prominent; the first on the sixth day after the original cerebral abcess had been drained externally and the second showing such symptoms to be well established at the time of patient's admittance to the hospital. In either case drainage of the ventricle externally made a good progress' through the abcess cavity and the patients made uneventful recovery.

Continuity between the abeess cavity and the ventricle in these cases was confirmed by roentge-nograms taken after injections of radio-opapue moljodol.
