Abstralt: IZUMI reports a case in whom the direction of nystagmus was reversed when 7 per cent solution of Sodium Bicarbonate was administered intravenously. A woman aged 29 affected with Maniere, Syndrome was seen with nystagmus towards the left side.On the second day after institution of treament with in-travenous sodium bicarbonate solution the nystagmus was reversed to the right side. Of this the author believes is definitely caused by the agent thus admin-istered and the mechanism by which reversal of ny-stagmus was effected might be due to allaying of abnormal stimulations of the left vestibular labyrinth by that agent. Marked fluctuation was shown in blood pressure recording taken at different times: the complaint of headaches, general malaise and chilling sensation of extremities were associated to and in concimmitttance with the the time in which a rise of blood pressure occurred from its lowest assumed level. At time of admittance to hospital biiod examination showed absence of eosinophils but follo-wing the treatment these increased to 3 per cent.
