No etiological tracing seems to have been successfully established of Higuchi's erythe-ma punctatum, which develops scatteringly in the extensor aspect of the human extrem-ities, especially in summer season.

The disease, first reported by Higuchi in 1943, is featu red by a non-itchy small spot-ted erythema surrounded by an anemic halo.

The authors noticed that those who sleep in a mosquito net did not develop the ery-thema and that those who sleep without a mosquito net develop the erythema only on the exposed side.

On experimet, Culex pipiens-bite resulted in the development of a typical eruption of erythyma punctatum.

It is strongly suggested that mosquito bite plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of erythema punctatum.
