  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The authors reported three cases, whose vertebral arteries had been injured by blunt trauma to the neck which was followed by cerebellobrainstem infarctions.

Case 1: a 32-year-old man, who developed severe vertigo and nausea 7 days after a traffic accident. He showed neck pain and horizontal nystagmus on admis-sion. Three days later, he became drowsy. CT scan of the head demonstrated right-side cerebellar infarction, and the angiography revealed an occlusion of the right vertebral artery at C4-5 level.
