  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

For these four years since 1974, 18 shunt operations have been performed on 17 cases of normal pressure hydrocephalus (N.P.H.). Among them the anti-siphon valve (A.S.V.) were used in 12 cases. Before discribing the general result of surgery, two cases were presented in which excellent recovery were obtained. The first case was 57 years old male who had developed N.P.H. since after his head injury. The first shunt operation had failed because of persistent headache and subarachnoid hemorrhage, followed by the second operation using A. S.V. after about one year.
