I．Cerebral hypoxia

　脳重量は全体重の2.5％に過ぎないが心搏出量の15％を利用し，組織100g当り1分間45mlの血液を必要としている。脳を通過する間に100ml当りの血中酸素含量は19.6mlから12.9mlと低下し，6.7mlの酸素を酸化的代謝に必要としている（Brierly,1976^4））。酸素は脳内に蓄積されないので酸素が臨界以下に低下すると脳は数分しか生きることができない。動脈血PaO₂　35mmHg以下または脳血流量が正常の40％以下になると脳波の徐波化を来し，脳静脈血PO₂が20mmHg以下で脳波は消失し，18秒以上持続すると完全なanoxiaとなる（Caronna,1979^5）参照）。

Abstract

　Myoclonus can appear as the early symptom of cerebral hypoxia when the patient is in coma. This paper is based on the syndrome of myoclonus in patients who recovered from coma with stagnant hypoxia or hypoxic hypoxia and its purpose is presenting the case histories of four patients, to analyse the symptoms, the clinical, physiological and pathological findings, and discuss the treatment and the pathogenesis.

　Case 1. A 48-year-old man was having a removal of ureter stone performed under general anesthesia, when his heart stopped beating for one to two minutes after hypoxia for at least fifteen minutes.
