I．はじめに

　最近，排尿障害に関する検査法は急速に進歩している。以前は膀胱内圧曲線測定法（Cystometry）が排尿障害に対する唯一の検査法と考えられていたが，現在では，これは本質的には排尿筋のみの機能検査法であると考えられている。

　いっぽう，1950年以降排尿障害例において，尿道抵抗が主要な問題の一つと考えられるようになり，逆行性尿道抵抗法^1）や，Brown and Wickham^2）による尿道内圧曲線測定法（Urethral Pressure Profile, UPP）が開発された。とくにUPP．により外尿道括約筋（以下外括約筋）を含む後部尿道の生理学的および薬理学的検討が行なわれた結果，排尿機構におけるその重要性が明らかとなってきた。

Abstract

There are several method for the assessment of the urethral function. Electromyography of the external urethral sphincter (EMGext. sph.) is one of it, which reveals the dynamic aspect of the urethra for continence.

The abnormality of EMGext. sph. is classified into three types, e.g., detrusor-external sphincter dyssynergia (DSD), uninhibited relaxaton of thesphincter, and hypoactive sphincter.

To record the EMBext. sph., the needle elec-trode, is generally used. In other cases, the plate electrode on the perineal portion, or the ring electrode mounted on the urethral catheter, are used.
