Transcortical reflex and voluntary movement

　許された紙面が僅少であるので，問題点を絞って述べる。それ以外は，以下の総説を参照されたい。Wiesendanger and Miles^104）の総説は，優れている。Desmedt^29）編集の単行本はlong-loop reflexについて当時の状況を網羅し，かつ重要な論文数篇を含む。他にMarsden etal.^67），Wiesendanger^103），Wiesendanger et al.^105）のもよくまとまっている。Rosen^85）のは，北欧グループによってなされた，ネコのgroup Iの上行経路をまとめている。後年，サルで行なわれたことが，ネコですでに解明されていたことがわかる。Group Iは3a野に投射するが，ネコとサルで3a野の様子が異なる。このため，一時，研究者間に混乱が見られた。3a野の解剖についてJones and Porter^51）が必読となる。Kaas^55）のも比較解剖の観点から参照されたい。最後になったが，Phillips（1969）^83）の総説は"transcortical servo loop"仮説の背景と，それが与えた影響のゆえに古典的とも言える。そのほかに関係ある総説を文献に挙げる^{9,10,18,34,35,73）}。

　Recent advances in the "transcortical reflex" were reviewed. At the initial stage of research in this field most experiments favoured the existence of a transcortical loop. Motor cortex neuron responded to a load disturbance before M₂ component, which was supposed due to the transcortical reflex. Succeedingly, latencies of M₂ component in different muscles were found to increase with the distance from the motor cortex to respective muscles. This was supposed to provide a rigid support for the transcortical loop.
