 In patients with toxic neuropathies in Department of Neurology, Neurological Institute, Faculty of Medicine, Kyushu University during the past 20 years (1963-1982) were reviewed retrospectively. Clioquinol neuropathy, so called SMON, was the highest in frequency (67 out of 83 patients with toxic neuropathies). Three patients with each of acrylamide and n-hexane neuropathy, two patients with each of arsenic, thiamphenicol, dipterex and thallium neuropathy and one patient with each of INH and sodium bromate neuropathy were encountered.
