脊髄ニューロンの神経伝達物質について

Neurotransmitter candidates of the spinal cord neurones

はじめに

　脊髄のニューロン回路網については，その形態学，生理学的知見が豊富であり，中枢神経系の中で最もよくわかっている部位の一つである。それに対して，脊髄の個個のニューロンが情報伝達に用いる神経伝達物質に関しては，他の中枢部位と同様まだわからないことが多い。神経伝達物質の定義にもよるが，最近急速に進歩した免疫組織化学の技術により脊髄ニューロンに局在していることが明らかになった多くのペプチド，あるいはそれとともに脊髄ニューロンに微小ガラス電極から与えた場合になんらかの作用があることが明らかになったペプチド，アミンあるいはアミノ酸などをすべて神経伝達物質（候補）とみなすならば，この種の知見は近年急速に集積してきている。本稿では，これら候補も含めて現在までに明らかにされたことをまとめることが目的であるが，神経伝達物質ごとにまとめるのではなく，脊髄のニューロンの種類別にまとめることにした。

Abstract

Neurotransmitter candidates involved in the functional activities of spinal cord neurones were extensively reviewed. Spinal neurones were cate-gorized as follows : 1) primary afferent neurones 2) autonomic efferent neurones 3) spinal inter-neurones 4) supraspinal descending neurones. Neurotransmitter candidates of primary afferent neurones such as glutamate, substance P, somato-statin, cholecystokinin, vasoactive intestinal poly-peptide and angiotensin II were reviewed mainly from immunohistochemical and physiological points of view.
