Pathological studies of inner ears from clinical cases

はじめに

　ヒトの内耳感覚器の病理を調べるにはいくつもの困難がある。その一つは内耳病変は必らずしも致死的病変でないので組織を取る機会が少ないことが挙げられる。またたとえ採取しても側頭骨という硬組織の中に膜性の繊細な感覚器が内耳液に浮かんでいる状態では通常のパラフィン切片法は適用できない。そこでわれわれの研究室では次の二つの方式を採用している。

Abstract

Inner ear pathology was studied in our depart-ment on the human membranous labyrinth from clinical cases. The methods were histological section of temporal bones from the autopsied patients with otological disorders and electron microscopic observation of the specimens taken from the patients during inner car surgeries. Temporal bone histopathology revealed patho-logical findings of endolymphatic hydrops, collapse and inner ear hemorrhages. The pathological findings were mainly found in the cochlea and saccule, while the utricle and ampullae were relatively resistant to the pathological influences.
