Abstract

Two antigens, mouse brain (MB) and rabbit spinal cord (RSC), and two host animals, cynomolgus monkeys and guinea pigs, were used in the present examination in order to determine the antigen doses required to elicite experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE). The EAE was induced with the antigens in FCA in ordinary way. Antigen doses were expressed as nitrogen contents. The following results were obtained.

 1) The MB antigen was required 10 times larger dose than that of the RSC antigen to cause EAE in the same degree in the guinea pigs.
