  • Look Inside

A new disease name, "Neurogenic Dermatopathy of Swine ", was given to a swine skin-disease being characterized by crust-like heaps of the cornified substances, accompanied with rhagade formation, in the various regions of the whole skin.

The true character of the changes of the skin was regarded as a hyperkeratosis such as conditions of progression of accentuation of cornification are inconstant. The hyperkeratosis was regarded as a histological presentation of disorder of the cutaneous metabolism caused by functional disturbances (organic changes exist) of the autonomic nerves innervating the skin.
