Leprechaunism（妖精症症候群）の2剖検例—とくに神経病理学的立場からの検討

Two autopsy cases of Leprechaunism: A preliminary study on the clinico-neuropathological finding

　Leprechaunism（妖精症症候群，Donohue症候群）とは前額は毛深く，眼窩隔離，鞍鼻，外耳は大きく正常位より下方に位置する特有の顔貌を呈し，皮膚には濃い色素沈着があり，陰核および小陰唇肥大などの所見を備えている小人で，内分泌異常に基づくと思われる一つの症候群と考えられている^36）。

　本症候群は，1954年Donohueらが生後46,96日目の女児例について，内分泌異常に基づく，一つの独立した症候群として報告^7,8）して以来，現在まで20例近くの報告がある。Rogersがゴナドトロピンの過剰産生が原因でLeydig細胞の過形成を伴い，二次性徴の早期発症のみられた男子例を追加^28）してから，本症は女児に限らず男児にもみられる^{4,5,10,16,18,27〜29）}ことが知られるようになった。本症の剖検例はいままでわずか8例に過ぎず^{7,8,15,28,29,33,35）}，そのうち本邦での剖検例は1例^35）のみである。

　These are a preliminary report of Leprechaunism in which revealed thining of corpus callosum, gliosis, dysmyelination in the white matter except that the surrounding ventricular wall, heterotopic neuron in the white matter, and atrophic ammon horns associated with ventricular dilatation on histological finding. But our two cases, 6 years old and one year old girls, had elfin face with large, low located ears, deep set eyes, retus nose, thick lip, micrognathia and enlarged clitoris.
